I ‘m researching the early 1967 Camaro SS 350 cu. engines , I think I have one . Although the deck has been shaved, the block casting is #3892657 (1967 only) small journal . The 350’s were all Large journal , but the early 350’s used SJ “dimple” rods with11/32 bolts. I’ve read the later 67 blocks used LJ rods. with 3/8 bolts. I’ve heard GM was experimenting with the early combination. I’m very interested in the history and thinking of the earlier rods and why they changed from SJ “dimple” to LJ no “dimple”. Was told this engine came out of a corvette , but have no GM historical evidence of that . Like I said vin & code shaved off.
